Pianist Hyejin Pak was born in Seoul, South Korea and began her piano studies at the age of seven. She received the Grand Prix in the Korean Philharmonic Orchestra Competition and made her debut at the age of 12, performing the Mozart Piano Concerto K. 488 with the Korean Philharmonic Orchestra. She received her Bachelor degree from Ewha Womans University where she was awarded the scholarship of excellence. In 2005, she performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Romanian National Chamber Orchestra. She moved to Cincinnati to study with Awadagin Pratt at the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati where she got her Master’s degree in 2012. She still resides in Cincinnati and is currently working on her Doctoral degree in Piano performance.
