

Inyoung Kim
Born in South Korea, Inyoung Kim began her formal music education at the age of eleven at Seoul Arts Center Music Academy for the Gifted. She graduated from Sunhwa Arts School and Sunhwa Arts High school where she had won the excellence performance awards for six years in succession. She also studied at Seoul National University under Jong Hwa Park with SNU Superior Academic Performance Award. Afterwards she moved to the US to continue her musical education with Alexander Korsantia at the New England Conservatory of Music where she received her Master of Music degree and was placed on the Dean’s List with NEC Performance Merit Scholarship. Currently, she is pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Awadagin Pratt as a full-scholarship recipient.
Kim has won top prizes at many competitions in the United States: Dallas International Piano Competition, Texas State International Piano Competition, NEC Honors Competition, American Franz Liszt International Piano Competition, George Gershwin International Music Competition, Ohio International Piano Duo Competition, Coeur D’alene Symphony Young Artist Competition, Utah Philharmonic Orchestra Concerto Competition, CCM Chamber Competition, CCM Concerto Competition, and Tuesday Musical Foundation Scholarship Competition.
Additionally, she has won numerous competitions in Korea such as the KookMin Journal Competition, Teenager Piano Competition, Kumho Young Chamber Artists Concerts Series Audition, Music Journal Competition, SamIk Piano Competition, SunHwa Arts Chamber Competition, Korea Piano Duo Association Competition, Music Educational Journal Competition, Student Music Foundation Competition, Seoul Music Competition, Music World Competition, and Sejong Music Competition. Upcoming and recent activities include performances at ‘Spotlight Spectacular Concert’ with Utah Philharmonic Orchestra, ‘Discovering Genuis’ concert-series with Coeur D’alene Symphony, Texas State International Piano Festival with Round Rock Symphony, NEC Chamber Gala Concert at Jordan Hall, Kumho Young Chamber Concert, The opening concert of Seoul City Hall, Young Musicians Festival (Eumyoun), etc. She has been featured on National Public Radio’s Morning Classical and Dayton Classical Public Radio’s Annual Gala.
As an enthusiastic sought-after teacher and lecturer, Kim had held teaching assistant positions at the New England Conservatory. Additionally, she had held positions as a collaborative pianist at NEC Preparatory School, NEC Choir, vocal department of NEC and CCM, Dance department of CCM, and Starling Program of CCM.
Kim has participated in a number of festivals, including the Art of Piano, the International Keyboard Festival and Institute(IKIF), the Great Mountain International Music Festival, Texas State International Piano Festival with a full scholarship, and has received masterclass instruction from internationally acclaimed artists such as Julian Martin, John Perry, Boris Slutsky, Olga Kern, Robert MacDonald, Yong Hi Moon, Yoshikazu Nagai, Kevin Kenner, Paul Schenly, Enrico Elisi, Alessio Bax, Victor Rosenbaum, Nykola Suk, Tokyo String Quartet, Chiara Quartet, ect.
