Chin Lok Yan Jessica has been performing regularly throughout America, Europe and Asia. She started her piano lesson at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts at the age of six. She received a Bachelor of Music from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with Eva Lue. Jessica held the Master of Music Piano Performance with a full scholarship at the New England Conservatory, under the tutelage of the Chair of the piano department Bruce Brubaker and Shai Wosner. She is now completing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music with Awadagin Pratt.
In 2015, Jessica was also awarded as a scholar and International student ambassador for the Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence Scheme Awardees. She received this award from the Hong Kong Government and was interviewed by the Hong Kong Media. She has recently given her Boston recital debut at the New England Conservatory. She is a top prize winner of numerous competitions, including The 69th Steinway and Sons International youth piano competition, and the 2nd Japan-Hong Kong International Music Competition (Chopin Prize awarded by Chopin International Piano Competition (Hartford, CT, U.S.A.) Jessica was also a scholarship recipient of New England Conservatory, donor Ms. Linda Ross from the New England Conservatory Board Member, Overseer and Mentor, HSBC Hong Kong Scholarship, Parsons Music Foundation Scholarship, Tom Lee Music Scholarship and The Society of APA Scholarship.
Jessica has also participated in the Bowdoin International Music Festival, Almafi Coast Music and Arts Festival, Walnut Hill Festival and International Keyboard Institute Festival. Jessica has appeared as both a solo recitalist and collaborative artists. She has also studied with world-class artists such as Jerome Lowenthal, Jorg Demus, Wha-Kyung Byun, Hung-kuan Chen, Pi-Hsien Chen, Hie-Yon Choi, Nina Lelchuk, Sequira Costa. Jessica has performed as a chamber musician and had worked with Lynn Chang, John Gibbons, The Ying Quartet and the Horszowski Trio.
