Shing-Ming Liao

Shing-Ming Liao, a native of Taiwan, enjoys performing as a soloist as well as collaborating with a wide range of artists within many different art communities. As a solo pianist, she was the winner of the Oberlin International Piano Competition, the Theodor Leschetizky International Piano Competition and the Taipei International Chopin Piano Competition. Ms. Liao has presented concerts and masterclasses at the Kentucky Center Governor's School for the Arts, the University of Dayton, the Miami University of Ohio and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She has served on the juries of the Keyboard Teachers Association Evaluation Festival.

 

Ms. Liao received a Doctor of Musical Arts from College-Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati, where her study was granted by the Ministry of Education of Taiwan, under the tutelage of Awadagin Pratt. In April 2017, she was awarded the Jane Young Scholarship by Phi Beta Fraternity, for her outstanding outreaches which have engaged audience in Greater Cincinnati.
